Time for Some Lemon-Aid!
One of the things I love most about Summer is kicking back with a big ol’ frosty cold glass of lemonade. Sweet, yet sassy, it always hits the spot and now that’s true for decorating, too. If you love yellow, this is your time!
Pantone (our industry’s leading color forecaster) has dubbed this sunny hue, “Solar Power,” and picked it as one of their top 10 colors of the season. From subdued lemon chiffon to bold meyer lemon, there’s a shade of perky yellow for everyone’s taste.
Yellow is known for its ability to infuse interiors with warmth, like in this Pennsylvania home. It also makes a beautiful backdrop (adds just enough color, yet, doesn’t fight with surroundings) for the room’s painterly art and rustic dining room table made from a repurposed church pew, circa 1800.
The homeowners of this North Carolina bungalow must hum a bit when traversing through this hall that’s wrapped in sunshine-y yellow and adorned with the name of a famous Beatles tune above each doorway.
Meyer lemon-hued walls colorfully frame the view, no matter the season in this New Hampshire winter porch.

Look how well yellow plays with others with Fresh as a Daisy wall planters.

Create an “Ode to Lemon” homage with the Fruit Pyramid candle centerpiece just waiting to be filled with fresh fruit and flowers.
Don’t know about you but decorating always makes me hungry which is why this Lemon Ice Box Tart mix caught my eye. Like its decorative counterparts, it’s tart and tangy; yet, lets me take a bite out of one of Summer’s best trends without doing much work…and don’t we all like that?!

Great article. I love lemons!! Carla, I have one piece of advice. Don’t live on Diet Coke..it is poison. Put a sliced fresh lemon in water with ice and sip it all day. It will give you energy and it tastes good!
Gayla, thanks the tip about lemon in water w/ice. Will give it a try!
